Adapina is a study aid for the NREMT EMT-Basic cognitive exam. It runs a true-to-format Computer Adaptive Test simulation: questions adjust to your ability in real time, the sim ends between 70 and 120 questions based on confidence, and at the cutoff Adapina projects your readiness to pass the real exam.
Most prep apps drill you on 1,000+ static questions. Adapina simulates how the NREMT actually scores you: an adaptive engine, a real cutoff, a verdict on the spot. You'll know your readiness in 70-120 questions, not 1,000.
The CAT engine uses deterministic Item Response Theory math (the same family of statistics the real NREMT uses) to estimate your ability score (theta) and confidence interval (SEM). When SEM tightens enough and you have answered at least 70 questions, the sim ends. Adapina then projects your pass probability based on your final theta and shows a per-domain breakdown so you know where to focus.
The verdict is a projection, not a guarantee.

Every question in Adapina is anchored to a public clinical reference. If you believe a question or rationale is incorrect, email us with the question text or screenshot and we will review it against the source. We update the bank when corrections are needed.
No. Adapina is an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT®). The NREMT is a registered trademark of its respective owner.
All questions are written by Adapina against public clinical references including the NREMT public test plan, NIH StatPearls, MedlinePlus, CDC clinical guidelines, and the Merck Manual Professional. No content is sourced from copyrighted EMS textbooks.
AI is used during development to draft initial question rationales. All clinical content is reviewed against published medical sources before publication. At runtime the app does not call any AI service. The CAT Simulator uses deterministic math, not AI inference.
All study progress (sim history, streak, domain accuracy) lives only on your device. Adapina does not have a server that stores your data. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
